Volkswagen Tiguan Facelifted Variant to be Built in Mexico & N America

Volkswagen, which is already expanding production to beyond the Passat, Jetta and Beetle models, will build their upcoming Tiguan model in Mexico. To be built either at the Chattanooga plant or the Pueblo plant in the Latin American nation, VW will be looking at increasing production units and sales of the Tiguan model. The Pueblo plant is where the Jetta and Beetle are assembled.

China has recently undergone a lot of development in its car market sector, and is rapidly climbing to the top of the world’s vehicle trade. Thus, it’s no wonder that Volkswagen have decided to generate presence there by introducing their latest, visually evolved Tiguan.

It’s still unclear whether or not the new design is meant for the Chinese market exclusively, so it’s still possible that the European and American versions of the car will look differently. However, knowing VW’s way of doing things, this is highly unlikely at the moment. Visually, the car appears to share a lot with the current Scirocco and Golf models, creating a nice consistent flow in VW’s design decisions. The technological details about the vehicle are still unknown, so we’ll have to wait for VW to reveal those.

After getting their hands on a Scirocco and getting all the sweat out of it, the wicked folks from B&B managed to beef up a Volkswagen Tiguan. The compact SUV is getting four different power packages for its 2.0 liter TFSI engine. With the same price as the Scirocco upgrade (998 Euro) the first stage brings in 240 hp and 340 Nm, goes up at 256 hp, 286 hp and ultimately at 300 hp and 420 Nm of torque. That beefed up engine is being packed along with a new sport exhaust that reduces counter-pressure, a high-quality sport catalyst and a slim-line oil cooler. Doesn’t look bad with those stylish 20-inch alloy wheels, so you’d better consider it if you want a more powerful Tiguan.

Caracter is a Belgian base Audi and Volkswagen tuner, who recently got their hands on the VW Tiguan and released a styling package for the compact crossover SUV. The body kit includes a front spoiler, a rear spoiler, front grille, 1 or 3 piece roof spoiler and wheel arch extensions, all made of polyurethane resin. Another addition is the 18, 19 or 20-inch Caractere wheels that you get to choose from.
