2008 Honda Civic Type-R Tuned by INGS

Published by on Nov 20th, 2007, 2 Comments

Japanese tuning specialist INGS has released a new line of aftermarket accessories for the 2008 Honda Civic Type-R sedan. INGS avoided offering any sort of mods for the 221 PS naturally aspirated K20A 2.0-liter i-VTEC engine, preferring to concentrate on aerodynamic and chassis improvements.

The Type-R’s grip is upgraded with the adoption of 18-inch Sports TS06 alloy rims wrapped in Bridgestone POTENZA tyres (255/35 R18 Front – 225/40 R18 Rear) along with a new suspension from Endless ZEAL / Function X. Braking power is enhanced Endless 6-pot calipers on the front axle.

Other mods include the 5Zigen muffler, the Takata / MPH-340R seat belts and INGS’ impressive bodykit that consists of new front and rear bumpers, side-skirts and a Jumbo-Jet size rear wing.

Honda S2000 Type S – Tokyo auto show

Published by on Oct 24th, 2007, 1 Comment

Honda has revealed the look of its Japan-spec S2000 Type S ahead of the car’s local launch at tomorrow’s Tokyo Motor Show. The car is essentially the same package as the U.S. delivered S2000 CR but differs by the inclusion of the standard folding roof instead of the aluminum hardtop as well as a new rear wing diffuser.

The factory-tuned roadster also features firmer suspension, increased body and chassis rigidity, overall weight reduction plus a unique aerodynamic package. The car is described by its developers as the “closest thing you can get to a Honda-built racecar with license plate holders and a horn,” signifying the desire of its target market of weekend club racers.

The Japanese version comes with the same high-revving four cylinder engine as U.S. spec models, including an identical 237hp and 220Nm of torque output. Complimenting the engine’s output characteristics is a compact, longitudinally-mounted, close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox and a torque-sensing limited slip differential.

Honda CR-Z Concept

Published by on Oct 20th, 2007, 4 Comments

Honda’s Tokyo Show offerings include a compact-coupe concept which paves the way for a successor to the highly successful CR-X coupe which went out of production in 1997. The Compact Renaissance Zero, or simply CR-Z, should be considered as Honda’s second attempt to revive the CR-X concept, following the poorly received Remix prototype that premiered at last year’s L.A. Show. While the CR-Z is definitely much better looking than the Remix concept, we can’t say that we’re exactly thrilled with its appearance and especially with the rear end which looks, well, just hideous. In the teaser press release, Honda says that the CR-Z is equipped with a gas-electric hybrid system which achieves both clean performance and a high level of torque.

Website review: CarSeek dot com

I’m in the market for a new ride and was looking for some opinions online. I promtly pointed my browser to Google and came accross .

The domain name fitted the bill and I logged onto the site. What I found was a clean designed website based mostly in text with some graphics to house the content. Being mostly texted based this resulted in a quick loading time which was pleasing. At first glance you can easily navigate to what your looking for with three graphic buttons calling for your attention on the top right of the site – reviews, buy a car and finance. On the left a box houses the quick car seach function which you can use to find a quote for exacly what set of wheels your looking for. That prety much summed up what I was looking for at that point – What car to buy, how I will finance it and how I will find it. Carseek was off to a good start. Staying on the index I scrolled down to find the latest car reviews featuring cars such as the or the latest . This provided some tasty reading materiaal while I tried to find my car of choice.

Using the top left car quote feature I selected in the drop down list “Audi” and immediatly the lower drop down listed all the available Audi models. Not a page refresh in sight. Rocking. I proceeded to surf to the Audi A3 page (a car in my price range) and was presented with a form to fill in to get my quote and some stats on the A3. No need to call the dealer they contact you!! With that out of the way and basically done with what I was looking for online. I prompted to stay on the carseek site surfing through the car reviews section which has thousands of entries just in case you haven’t made up your mind to which car you want. I also popped in to the articles section which presented articles of other automotive topics such as road rage and child safety. turned out to be a very fast responding informative website giving me just what I wanted and more in a clean design to ensure fast loading. Carseek has been bookmarked and I think you should to.
