Ferrari California 2

If any of you had doubts about the Ferrari California also sporting a manual transmission other than the standard automatic one, it should now be cleared as Ferrari has detailed the particular variant. It will feature a six-speed manual option which may be a tad low in terms of performance but it will reportedly meet a 10% customer demand. The manual version will pelt from 0 to 100km/h in 4.2 seconds which will be a whole 0.3 seconds slower than its automatic cousin. The manual variant will also consume more fuel at 13.1l/km compared to 17.9l/km of the DCT version. The top speed will remain the same irrespective the transmission-311 km/h.

Do you remember Ferrari California? Do you remember the way it looks? it doesn’t matter if you said yes or no, the most important thing is … can you afford one because we know how much it will sell for (at least in the UK). The Brits already know price for the new Ferrari California and it’s £143,000. What you get for the money? Great looks that cover a 4.3-litre V8 beast that does 460 bhp at 7500rpm, weighs 1735kg, features a 7-speed double-clutch transmission and does 0 to 100km/h in under 4 seconds. Amazing? You betcha!

Ferrari California is in Paris

The Paris Motor Show this year, has a lot (A LOT) of hot stuff going on. For example, Ferrari’s new baby, the California has been unveiled (officially) and boy that thing looks neat. I can see it designed for the lovely sunny beaches in California, it has an aluminum hardtop – keeping weight down – that only takes 14 seconds to open or close.

With a cute “little” 4.3-litre V8 engine inside that develops nothing less than 460 hp the new Ferrari California goes to 100km/h in less than 4 seconds and tops at 310km/h. But the engine seems to be very well optimized … It will take 13.1-l of fuel for every 100km you drive, but … will emit 305.6 g\km in harmful CO2 (that I don’t like). If you can afford it, then you should know it comes with various suspension settings, a new 7-speed double-clutch gearbox, satellite navigation and some other goodies for large pockets.
