Published by on Jan 21st, 2010, 1 Comment

A highly popular model across the globe, we have just managed to get our hands on pictures with the interior of the new Chevrolet Aveo.. If you folks remember the Chevrolet Aveo RS concept that was showcased at the NAIAS earlier this month, there isn’t much difference you will find between the two; except for the centre console with Bluetooth controls and the lacquer trim. The list of similarities include the instrument cluster housing, a multi-function steering wheel, HVAC vents and controls and even the storage options are alike. The Bluetooth controls have been substituted with a CD/Radio Sound System. Nothing is known about the engine, although the RS concept sported a 1.4L Ecotec engine that rendered 138hp. [via ]

Chevrolet Orlando concept

The wagon shape isn’t a popular iteration for a commuter to chose but when the same bears a GM Moniker and promises to incorporate the Delta Platform from the Chevy Volt, we sure know we are in for something. The Orlando-a seven passenger multi-purpose vehicle which adorns the wagon shape was on track for a 2011 production but then bankruptcy changed everything for GM. Now the stalled Chevrolet model that was first seen at the Paris Motor Show is moving forward if Bob Lutz is to be believed. It hasn’t been confirmed but as per Lutz, GM is studying the adaptation of Volt technology to the upcoming Orlando. It may therefore be produced as an electric family commuter with an extended range based on the Delta platform of course. [via  ]

Chevrolet Cruze for 2009 WTCC

Published by on Oct 13th, 2008, No Comments

Chevrolet is renowned for its successful streak of twelve wins at the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) and that’s why this year they’ll introduce the new Cruze, to win it again. Chevy is already testing the new model to make sure their new Cruze is top notch with an aggressive design, a long list of specs and an affordable price. We’ll get to see it in Curitiba, Brazil for the 2009 WTCC.

“The new Cruze will be the next milestone in Chevrolet Europe’s motorsports history. So far, we have achieved every goal we set in 2005, step by step: challenge the competition, score points, prove we can win and then become regular frontrunners against competition with an established motorsports resume. With the Cruze, we will put the bar even higher and firmly aim at winning the World Championship. Chevrolet’s unique ‘trump card’ is having worked with the same team, engineers and drivers for the past four seasons, with the success we all know. To be able to do this again with the Cruze will only help to increase our chances of achieving our goals.” said Eric Nève, Manager for Chevrolet Europe Motorsport.

Chevy Volt – Production Version Images

Another leakage in the car market and some more guys to appreciate it. Yes, we do appreciate when we can see the new version/model before the official debut at motor shows. Today it’s Chevy’s turn to show us some spice. Their new electric vehicle (car), Chevy Volt, appears in a few shots with all sorts of “models” that don’t seem to be prepared. Honestly, we’d have expected young women close to the car instead of ties and suits

But back to Chevy Volt, the company released a couple of teaser images last few months but this time we have it for real so ladies and gents, this is how the new Chevrolet Volt is going to look. That’s the actual production model. How do you like it? Beats Prius? Would you buy one?

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with 638 hp

 Corvette ZR1 LS9 Engine

“Not bad” is the first thing I could say about the new Corvette ZR1. They called it the American supercar and for a reason because it was supposed to output 620 hp from a hand built LS9 6.2L supercharged V8 engine. Though 620 hp may have been enough, it turned out to be the bad number, because Corvette ZR-1 outputs nothing less than 638 hp (476 kW). This is the most powerful engine that GM ever built.

“The combination of large displacement and the new, four-rotor design broadens the effective range of the supercharger, allowing the engine to make more power at lower rpm and sustain it throughout the power band. The low-end torque is tremendous and the high-rpm charge from the supercharger is simply amazing.” said Sam Winegarden, GM Powertrain Chief Engineer.
