2012 Chevrolet Camaro Updated Model This Summer

The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro will come sporting many updates in time for the summer season. The most significant change would be that the vehicle will incorporate a new 3.6-liter V6 engine – to be called the LFX. It produces 323 hp (241 kW / 327 PS), and that accounts for 11 hp (8 kW / 11 PS) more than the previous engine of the vehicle. It also offers fuel economy rating of 30 mpg.

The upcoming Chicago Auto Show will see the unveiling of the Chevrolet Camaro Z28. Most likely to be revealed with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine with close to 556 hp (415 kW / 564 PS) and 551 lb-ft (747 Nm) of torque, the car is expected to be paired to a six-speed manual transmission. This feature is to enable the vehicle to accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 4 seconds.

The upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show will see Chevrolet bringing forth on the display platform its new Camaro Convertible.  The drop top model will be powered by 312 hp (233 kW/ 316 PS) 3.6-liter V6 and a 426 hp (318 kW / 432 PS) 6.2-liter V8 engines. The company will ensure that six-speed manual transmission will be standard in the car, while six-speed automatic could be offered as optional.

The fist photos of the pre-production Chevrolet Camaro Convertible surfaced back in 2008, and since then, the development has taken a pretty long time. GM has finally revealed the first images of the production ready 2012 Camaro Convertible prototype through social media outfit Facebook. The convertible looks similar in design to the Coupe and a few noticeable changes include a repositioned third brake light, a trunk-mounted antenna, and a key slot for opening the rear trunk. The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible will feature the same engines as the coupe including a 312hp 3.6L V6, a 400 hp 6.2-liter V8, and a 426hp 6.2L V8 option. We expect the convertible to arrive by April 2011.

2010 Chevrolet Camaro Synergy Special Edition

Chevrolet have just announced a special edition for the 2010 Camaro Synergy; which this time, involves an amazing new color. We’re talking about an exquisite green paint job and cyber grey racing stripes on the hood as well as the deck lid, except for the roof. The green theme follows on the interior, too, from the door inserts to the console.

The special edition Camaro Synergy is powered by a 3.6-liter direct-injection V6 which produces 304 bhp as well as 273 ft-lb pf torque, and has both a six-speed manual gearbox as well as an automatic gearbox. The car will go up for sale for a limited time from February to May and will cost some $27,000.

The Tokyo Motor Show is now over and while the focus at the Japanese event was on eco friendly tech, it seems that the upcoming SEMA will showcase a mix of green and some astonishing Camaros. Another addition to that already impressive Camaro list at SEMA will be the Lingenfelter Performance Engineering 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. Named as Pontiac Trans-Am and badged as the Trans-Am logo, the car rides on 20 by 10 front and 20 by 11 rear honeycomb wheels, giving the Camaro an altogether different identity at the event. Under the hood will be a 7.45-liter aluminium block engine that can produce a whopping 655 horses and a maximum torque of 610 ft-lb. On the inside will be a classic customized interior that will boast of a machine drilled steering wheel and billet dash inserts. [via ]
