All Bentley Continental Models to Be Blessed with Flex-Fuel Tec

Published by on Mar 15th, 2010, No Comments

Bentley is keen to please the environmentalists by offering a complete range of vehicles that ride on green wheels. For Bentley, Ethanol is the key and though the technology has been around since 2003, it is now that Bentley has decided to offer its entire range with the Flex-Fuel engines with the models hitting the market as early as June this year.

The exact details of the range expansion is not yet public but what we do know is that the lineage will be equipped with an internal combustion engine, a 6.0-liter W-12 beast in this case. The Bentley commuters could run singly on gasoline, on E85 bioethanol or on a combination of both fuels. Bentley aims to reduce CO2 fleet emissions by 15% by 2012 and introducing Flex-Fuel technology laden engines is a quick solution, just that there aren’t enough E85 stations around and Bentley should have considered the drawback.

Bentley Continental Supersports Ragtop Spy Shots

Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible 1

The Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible was not just a concept and these latest spy shots from an official photo shoot confirm the fact. The ragtop will be showcased for the very first time at the upcoming North American International Auto Show and then the Geneva Motor Show in March this year. On the outside, the convertible shares the styling traits with the standard Continental Supersports thanks to same front bumper, 20-inch wheels and the smoked headlights.

On the inside, the spy shots could only reveal a similarity of the twin sport seats as of now. The difference between the standard model and the convertible is predictably the reduction in weight, and what is a rarity to the lineage are the Quickshift transmission and the carbon-ceramic brakes. Under the hood is a 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine that renders 621hp and 800Nm of torque. Courtesy of the awesome power generation, the car can pelt from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and it has a top speed of 200mph. The ragtop can commute both on petrol and E85 bio-fuel.

The latest body kit released by Hamann for the Bentley Continental GT is a wonderful addition to the revved up power kits that came earlier for the car. The current set of makeovers tries to add plush interiors and style to the earlier body kits that added additional whoop to the 6.0 liter W12 engine that output 630hp (650 hp for the Speed version). The Imperator’s sixteen-piece body kit comes loaded with a revised front bumper with the latest in LED datytime running light style, side skirts and fender flares with vents, a new rear bumper, diffuser and spoiler. It also adds the choice between 21-inch and 22-inch wheels. The interiors look awesome with the new orange-tainted leather upholstery making the transformation of your GT complete.

800HP ASI Bentley Continental GT-based Tetsu GTR

Do you remember the MTM tuned Audi R8 from the other day? Well in the same category we have this new Bentley Continental GT where ASI, one of the most renowned Japanese tuners, managed to sprinkle some magic so that it can output nothing less than 800hp. There will be only 29 such models created, and one of them will be presented in Toyo Tires’ booth at SEMA (the place where the country’s top tuners gather).

With a beautiful new carbon fiber body (I simply love the paint and the color play – above pic), 22-inch wheels and a lowered suspension it looks stunning. I’d be interested to know the price, too, because it won me with the design. Here’s another version, on silver.
