BMW’s stunning new CS Concept

The Winding Road exclusively reported this scoop a few minutes ago!

We’ve just returned from the unveiling of BMW’s stunning new CS Concept here in Shanghai, and to be honest, we’re not entirely sure what to make of it.

The long and low four-door coupe is definitely better looking in person, but our staff remains split on what to think of it. It’s certainly an aggressive look, and it absolutely carries BMW’s “flame surface” styling in a new direction, but not all of WINDING ROAD’s team here in Shanghai think that it has the visual goods, especially in light of likely segment-mates like the Mercedes-Benz CLS and Aston Martin Rapide.

In any case, this V-12 powered four-place luxury sedan marks out some pretty bold new territory for the marque, and shows that BMW is keen to increase its return-on-investment with its 7-series sedans. And while it’s officially just a concept, we think it portends a coming range-topper for the Bavarians, potentially resurrecting the 8-series moniker

3 series

There will be two convertible models the 328i and the 335i. The 328i is made for the buyer who just wants the convertible, as the base engine has a conservative 230 hp. The 335i features BMWs superb 300-hp inline turbo six-cylinder, which we recently tested in a 335i coupe. It can hit 62 mph in 5.8 seconds. There are more power plants planned for the future, but its unclear if all the models will make it to the United States.

Porsche Model Range

Many car enthusiasts have a love hate relationship with Porsche. You either love it or hate it. You could hate it for its outrageous rear spoiler, the engine being in the wrong place and its tendency to over steer at the limit. And yet people love it for exactly the same reasons…

Maserati's GranTurismo Joins Tourer Fray

Published by on Apr 4th, 2007, No Comments

Italian sports car maker Maserati has seen turbulent times in recent years. Having been owned by various private and government entities during its lifespan, the company has been at pains to justify its sporting cachet by producing cars whose performance and handling, not to mention looks, live up to its early history. The purchase of Maserati by Ferrari and the subsequent introduction of the Quattroporte luxo-sport saloon in 2003 have seen an increase in sales and given a new lease on life to the Trident marque.

2008 Subaru WRX surfaces

Here are the first shots of the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX sedan, which again moves the approval meter a bit more to the negative side. The front end is virtually the same as the five-door hatchback’s with an obscenely large intake and matte grille flanked by bits of chrome.
