The new Nissan 350Z Roadster starts into the new convertible season with some modifications. Cobra Technology & Lifestyle already offers a broad range of sporty COBRA N+ tuning components for the 2006 model. Of course most COBRA N+ options are also available for the modified 350Z coupe.

The facelift on the 350Z bodywork required the development of new COBRA N+ bodystyling components made from flexible PU-Rim in original equipment quality. Technical masterpiece

The engine conversion by Carlsson includes a special electronic control unit with special maps for injection and ignition. On the intake side, sports air filters ensure optimum aspiration. On the outlet side, a stainless-steel sports exhaust system with high-performance metal catalytic converters and sports silencers cut back-pressure to a minimum. Another measure to boost engine performance is improved intercooling, which reduces charge-air temperature. Thus, the V12 is always raring to go and the driver can rely on having more than adequate power on hand regardless of the situation. (more…)

Forget Hummer limos – here is the Ferrari F360 Modena limo

It’s a stretch literally and figuratively  – it’s the F360 Modena turned into a 23 foot long limousine with gullwing doors.

Built for limousine company Style Limousine in England at a cost of about $400,000 plus the price of the car, it seats eight people in carbon fiber seats, each with a racing belt harness. Style claims that the standard 395 hp (295 kw) engine will yield a zero to sixty time of less than six seconds.

The limousine uses advanced construction techniques for both the body and the gullwing doors. Much of the bodywork is carbon fiber, as are the doors.

The F360 stretch isn’t the only unique limousine in the Style fleet. It also includes a stretch Hummer painted bright pink, as well as other stretch Hummers, Range Rovers and Chrysler 300s. Then there’s the LimoJet – the fuselage and tail of a Lear Jet converted into a limousine.

Astra OPC Nürburgring Edition

Published by on Aug 31st, 2007, 1 Comment

Opel has unveiled the new Astra OPC “Nürburgring Edition,” a unique version of the three-door Astra that emphasizes the brand’s history at the famous circuit. Opel’s production cars are extensively tested during their development stage on the ‘ring, and back in 2005 Manuel Reuter first demonstrated the performance of the Astra OPC when he set a new class record in the car on the “green Hell”.

The limited edition Astra comes with a special white paint scheme, a larger rear spoiler and checkered flag decals plus lightweight wheels and carbon looks mirrors. The interior features full leather trim marked with the outline of the famed Nordschleife on the headrests, carbon-look dash panels and a numbered plaque on the glovebox.

The 237hp (177kW) 2.0L turbo motor remains untouched, and sees the car travel to 100km/h from rest in 6.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 244km/h. The car officially goes on sale in the first quarter of next year but should make an appearance at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Follow a jump for a video of Reuter and his record setting attempt of the Nurburgring in an Astra OPC.
