Autodromo announces inaugural collection of motoring watches

Inspired by dashboard gauges from Vintage Italian sports cars, timepieces recall a golden age of motoring when driving required style, panache and perhaps even a little bit of danger.

Autodromo, is the creative vision of founder Bradley Price, an industrial designer who set out to craft unique products to express the spirit of motoring.

Autodromo blends a contemporary minimalist design sensibility with mid-century vintage character. Each piece, crafted in small batches, features a Swiss Made Ronda movement inside a sleek, 42mm brushed stainless steel case and K1 Glass crystal with sapphire coating. Every detail has been carefully considered from genuine leather watch straps, perforates to recall the look and feel of vintage car upholstery, t0 the beautifully appointed gift box and individually numbered aluminium warranty card.


Vilner takes on the BMW 5-Series F10 and 6-Series M F12

Take a look at Vilner’s two new projects – the BMW 5-Series F10 and 6-Series M F12 both received full modifications from the luxury tuning specialists.

Both vehicles were foiled in white matte and new spoilers were added to the rear hoods.

The true craftsmanship of Vilner however can be seen throughout the interior of both models. While the interior of the 5-Series was entirely changed, the white theme was continued inside the coupe with white leather wrapping and contrast created with accents of black and red.


Cool Car Advert: Volkswagen Netherlands

In one of its latest advertisements Volkswagen Netherlands has unveiled something great.

Created by Dutch DDB & Tribal Amsterdam, the advert begins with a dog making some very strange sounds while being taken for a walk by his owner. Watch the advert below to find out why.

Clearly, you don’t have to be able to drive a Volkswagen for it to make a long lasting impression.


Aston Martin V8 Vantage Promo Video

Aston Martin has released a new promo video for their 2012 facelifted Vantage V8.

Having adopted the style from the Vantage S, the entry level model features a new lower front bumper design with air splitter, redesigned side-sills and a new rear bumper equipped with an integrated diffuser.

Performance updates taken from the Vantage S include quicker steering, larger brakes and wider tyres.

Powering the 2012 V8 Vantage is a 4.7-litre V-8 engine putting out the same output of 420bhp ( 426 PS/313 kW ) compared to the Vantage S output of 430bhp (436 PS/321 kW) and 490 Nm (361 lb-ft) of torque.

A six-speed manual transmission comes as standard, but the optional six-speed Sportshift automated manual transmission has been replaced with the seven-speed Sportshift II.


Mercedes Benz rolls out invisible car

When it came time for Mercedes Benz to promote its new fuel cell vehicle, the German auto manufacturer decided to use it as an opportunity to create an innovative and unique marketing sketch. Rather than simply display the car for the public to view, it decided to make it invisible. Ultimately an innovative driving technology needs an innovative way to promote it.

The decision to make the car ‘invisible’ emphasizes that its F-Cell vehicle has no exhaust emissions, making it virtually invisible to the environment. That’s pretty clever. This was achieved by placing a mat of LEDs across the entire one side of the vehicle and mounting a video shooting Canon 5D Mark II digital SLR camera on the other side.

Mercedes has said that its hydrogen-powered drive system is “ready for series production,” but other reports have its commercialization expected only in 2014. However, fuel-cell technology is still extremely expensive, partly because hydrogen is a difficult fuel to store and transport and the materials needed to create a viable fuel-cell are also very pricey.


Audi S7 Superbowl Commercial

This is Audi’s advertisement for its much anticipated S7 that the German auto manufacturer released days before it was set to air on American televisions during the Super Bowl. Audi unveiled the spot mere days after teasing its Super Bowl ad after  fans beat the company’s Race The Light game on the social network.

The ad follows the vampire craze set in the forests where a group of young 20-something vamps are having a party. When their hero arrives in a silver Audi S7 with an extra batch of O Negative for everyone to enjoy, disaster ensues.

The 2013 Audi S7 Sportback is powered by a 4.0 TFSI twin-turbo V8 making 420-hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. Mated to 6-speed S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel-drive, the S7 Sportback accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.

Audi RS4 Avant Details Revealed

Ahead of its official debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, Audi has revealed the images and details of its new RS4 Avant which may be as a result of images having been leaked to the public yesterday.

The RS4 Avant generates its personality from a hand built 4.2-litre V8 engine that produces 450PS ( 331kW / 444 hp ) and 430 Nm (317.15 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100kph in 4.7 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250kph. For those unsatisfied with the limit, drivers can request to have the speed limiter removed to raise the top speed up to 280kph. The performance figures are even more impressive when you consider that the fuel economy stats reflect that the vehicle consumers 11 litres per 100km.

The official press release states that, “Like every RS model from Audi, the RS 4 Avant comes standard with quattro permanent all-wheel drive. The heart of this system is the crown-gear center differential. This compact and lightweight component can vary the distribution of power between the front and rear axles immediately, smoothly and over a wide range, with up to 70 percent flowing to the front or as much as 85 percent to the rear. The default 40:60 ratio of the rear-biased configuration ensures sporty handling.”

Licensed by the car manufacturers, the Click Car Mouse is a miniature near perfect replica of the real cars they’re modelled on. They are designed to a very high technical standard using only the highest quality materials. Most models are available in both wired and wireless versions.

badConline received the Range Rover Evoque Mouse and Mercedes Benz 300 SL USB Stick to test out. The Wireless Optical Evoque Mouse comes packaged with a nano receiver and battery. Once setup, the mouse can either be turned on (either with or without rear and headlights depending on how much battery you’re willing to use up) or off when not in use. It has a 10 metre range and adjustable high-res optical for 800dpi and 1600dpi.

After using it for a couple of hours, the Mouse slowly began to feel uncomfortable with the angled lines of the Range Rover not exactly conducive for the natural round shape of my palm. Sometimes, my finger would even get caught underneath the right hand side mirror. As a result, I would prefer a car with smoother contours – an Aston Martin DBS perhaps. However, it is important to be aware that my hands are smaller than most and may result in a different experience for someone else.  The mouse works optimally on a pad as wheels, unfortunately, do not move.
